We Need Someone Else In Charge

With that in mind, who do you think would make a good global moderator or even admin? The question's open, but NR makes a good point, so if you're going to put someone forward, include your reasoning.

I mean come on, I'm willing to bet I spend the most time on the site than most of the rest of you, I check it every day. This place means a lot to me, and I would certainly do my best to maintain order, or at least a reasonable stability.
It's quite obvious the current administration isn't particularly in tune with the board at present, save for maybe Hermes and the few others who actually come on a few times a week.
So yes, I do want the job.

I'm really looking for posts like Xi's. Anything much shorter isn't a whole lot of use.

Here is what he is:
-Competent
-Here a lot
-In touch with the people and interests of the vast majority of the board
Here is what he isn't:
-Stiff as a board
-An idiot
-Prone to flights of fancy
-Lame
-A bitch
I think Fred is a bit more qualified and 'deserving of the position', but they would do well in tandem. Fred operates as more behind the scenes, Gaia more the face of modship. Both are important and nobody here can fulfill both.
There you go.
EDIT: I would also like to point out that I'm DIS-recommending Xi for his general ineffectiveness and not displaying a sense of leadership. Strictly business, nothing personal.

A great mod would clean up a shitstorm within 24 hours, meaning he'd be on the board daily.
However, an excellent mod would clean these situations up within a few hours of them happening. The only type of mod capable of this is one who stays in touch with /pj/ members outside of the board itself, such as in the #zebeth chat or via instant messenger. For instance, if something's going down then someone on the board can communicate their distress to the mod immediately.
If the concern we're trying to address here is a mod's presence, then the answer is as simple as getting someone who is in essense on here all the time.
I'm personally neither in the chat nor do I IM any of you, but if you know someone who fits those two qualifications (or if you're one of those people) then feel free to suggest someone.
Personality-wise, a lot of us act the same. There's no real way to tell who's going to abuse their power so by default I'm going to assume that anyone who becomes mod will eventually go crazy. I think Hermes is the only person I've seen be a mod and neither resign nor usher in a hurricane of fecal matter.

Although i would like to point out that i am here regularly, i have lots of mod experience, everyone doesn't hate me, and that i understand all the people on the board, since i am one of the people on this board....if that makes any sense.
From other places i have been, Gaia suffers from severe bouts of 'don't give a fuck-itis', where he will be around, people will be actively calling him, over and over to get involved, but he doesn't do anything, simply because he doesn't give a fuck. Surely you have noticed this on Sausages, Hermy.
If he could get over his tendency to just....not do anything while being aroun, then i suppose he MIGHT be a decent mod. Then again the time he said that 'rape is ok if you think the world is going to end' still hangs around in my mind so my final vote on gaia is 'lolno'.
AND AS FAR AS ME GETTING CONTROL OF THE BOARD i have lied or denied any kind of information to people who have asked it from me, as long as it wasn't too sensative (hermes bra size for example) and back before the board became a hivemind, when there was alot of argument between the mods and members, i was the one that had to end up intermediating on peoples behalf to keep mods who got really really angry from doing shit they shouldn't be doing, ie banning people while in a complete rage.
Not all of the current coolguys may like me (ALTHOUGH YOU BETTER, DAVE), but i certainly have been working for everyones common enjoyment of this board.
If was moot was admin (again) all the mods would probably get SPACE MADNESS again.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm here all the damn time. Whenever I've a chance, sup I'm here. It's good there's no PJ Mobile. I read every post on the board, whether or not I reply or even find it relevant (TF2 topic for example lawl).
I know I was a nard in the past but really, when was the last time I caused any problems? I've really leveled out. I know that our members are good at generally managing themselves, but occasionally need to be put back in line. I'm all for giving chances, but I still see the need for the occasional lurk moar ban (PED for instance).
so
yeah
other than myself, I see Gaia being the choice. But I've never observed him elsewhere so I don't know.
I GUESS YOU COULD SAY I DON'T KNOW JACK OLOLOLOLOL

As to what Noel said, that's only because I've been very on-and-off about RPing lately. I'm here every day on this board.
and I don't even have slippery fingers
as for presence, I check this place so much that that "open a tab and type in projectjen.net" has become second-nature to me. I find myself closing a pj tab, and then immediately opening a new one without even realizing it. Whenever a page is loading a hit Ctrl+T and check this place.
I don't know about admin, but I'm confident I'd make a pretty good smod.

you know, the good ol' days.
Mods banning people for insulting Cyrus, showing up and screaming GET BACK ON TOPIC, mods getting pissed when they misinterpret someone and ban a newbie because they thought the piece of metroid art they posted was actually a DEATH THREAT against them (oh man that made me lol SO HARD), and general crap like that.
UNDER MY LEADERSHIP, AWESOMENESS WILL BE EXULTED. FAGGOTRY WILL BE BEAT DOWN
AND RAY WILL, FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER, BE OUR OFFICIAL WHIPPING BOY.

So while I would love for this place to go back to the good ol' days (which by my definition is simply "more activity than a stagnating pond"), I don't think I'd really even try to do that. It's not something that a mod can really accomplish.
But Noel you don't seem to have realized that the age of the coolguy is dead.
